Reading pH, EC, and Moisture as One Picture
A single number is rarely enough. These three parameters need to be read together and related to the crop and field conditions.

Soil data becomes useful when each parameter is not read in isolation. pH, EC, and moisture give each other context when it comes to nutrient availability.
pH gives context on availability
pH helps explain how nutrients become available to plants. The value should be compared with the crop target and the soil characteristics.
EC shows concentration
EC indicates the concentration of dissolved ions. A high or low reading should be interpreted alongside fertilizer inputs, water quality, and moisture.
Moisture completes the reading
Soil that is too dry or too wet can change how readings are interpreted. Record the time, location, and conditions at measurement so results can be compared.
